                                                            Killing the Future

The teenagers in our society all want to grow up too fast. They believe that they are old enough to go out, smoke, drink and have unprotected sex. Once they experiment with these rebellious actions and the experiments turn out okay, they will continue to do it, believing that nothing will happen to them. Once a teenage girl has unprotected sex, she is at risk for pregnancy, not only is it teenage girls but there are many women in age that don’t want to have kids but still go unprotected. When pregnant, many of these girls seek solutions to get their life back to normal and they don’t want to have a baby in their hands. Some seek the solution of adoption because they know they won’t be able to take care of the child, but in other cases abortion crosses their mind. Abortion in my opinion is killing a baby who is making its features by the minute. In any world that is out there, it is horrible to take a life away. The choice of having an abortion shouldn’t be allowed anywhere. Abortion is murder.

The baby is multiplying its cells right when fertilization happens because at that moment the genetic makeup is complete including the sex of the baby. Even if you think it’s not alive until you hear the heart beat, you are wrong. When the fertilization or conception takes place it’s a living baby who is going to grow. When abortion is chosen as a solution to the “problem” you are killing a little innocent baby who has never done anything to you but only wants happiness.

The teenage moms that want the option of abortion strongly stand their ground and support it because they feel like it’s the right thing to do. “T.S. Elliot has said that there is no greater treason than that to do the right deed for the wrong reason” (King Jr 181). Many of the young teenagers and also including the older women believe that abortion should not be taken away because it gives the women their rights. They feel that abortion is the right deed but they clearly have the wrong reason. It’s the wrong reason because they are killing a baby or the deliberate termination of the human pregnancy. There is no right deed into killing a baby. If they are not ready to have a baby and are not prepared they shouldn’t of have unprotected sex if they will not be able to be responsible for the outcomes, a baby.  They shouldn’t end the life of a baby simply because it’s going to jeopardize their own life.

The people in our country have much more power than we use to have. We get somewhat more say in the laws that are being passed today in our society. “For man holds in his moral hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life” (Kennedy 197).  From this statement that Kennedy said in his speech he is saying that even if we are human we have so much power or anything living and non living. I believe that abortion is giving the power to kill. It is clearly stated in the Ten Commandments, Thou shall not kill, so why kill? Abortion is taking a life away, giving it no hope to survive. What if the baby was going to find the cure for cancer? What if the baby was going to be president? What if the baby was going to find a sickness and stopped the whole wide world from getting a disease? Not only are you killing a baby but also along with the future of
America’s success!
